BAR Shinkai, The Fourth Door.
A new whisky destination opens in Shiba Park.
Thank you for your continued support of the Johnny’s whisky Dictionary.
BAR Shinkai, which operates this site,
on October 1, 2026, a new location will be added to the BAR Shinkai.
It will be called “Shiba Park BAR Shinkai.”
Until now, BAR Shinkai has been bringing you the charm of whisky and other spirits in various locations.
This time, the new location we’ve chosen is Shiba Park in Tokyo.
It’s about a 1-minute walk from Exit A2 of Shiba-Park Station on the Toei Mita Line.
This new bar will open near the Shibaenbashi intersection, heading toward Akabanebashi.
At first glance, it’s hard to tell that this office building houses a bar.
In its basement lies a space that stands quietly.
There, you’ll find a bar that differs from previous BAR Shinkai locations, designed with a focus on tranquility and sophistication.
1. Another “BAR Shinkai” Opens in Shiba Park

At Shiba Park BAR Shinkai, we value the charm of the drinks themselves and the time spent enjoying them.
The interior features subdued lighting to create a calm atmosphere, aiming to provide a place where you can spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
It’s perfect not only for a drink after work but also for evenings when you want to leisurely savor a glass of whisky.
As you sip your drink, listen closely to the story behind it, its aroma, and its flavor.
We strive to be a bar where you can enjoy moments like these.
2. Over 300 Bottles of Japanese whisky
One of the defining features of Shiba Park BAR Shinkai is its collection of over 300 bottles of Japanese whisky.
Currently, a wide variety of whiskys are being produced at distilleries across Japan.
Each has its own region, distillery, ingredients, casks, and aging environment.
Even though they’re all grouped under the term “Japanese whisky,” each bottle has its own unique character.
At Shiba Park BAR Shinkai, you can enjoy this diverse range of Japanese whiskys by the glass.
From long-standing favorites to bottles released in limited quantities.
“I’ve heard of it, but I’ve never tried it.”
“I want to learn more about Japanese whisky”
For those who feel this way, we hope this will be a place where you can discover a new bottle.

3. From a “Place to Drink” to a “Place to Connect”
Time spent at a bar isn’t just about drinking.
A single bottle of whisky can be the starting point for learning about the distillery.
A scent sparks an interest in barrels and the aging process.
And through a single drink, conversations begin with the bartender or the guest sitting next to you.
Our goal is to create a bar where such “encounters” can happen.
Whether you’re just starting to explore Japanese whisky or have been enjoying it for years,
We want this to be a place where we can recommend a drink tailored to each person’s knowledge and experience.

4. More Than Just whisky The Joy of a Bar
Of course, the appeal of Shiba Park BAR Shinkai isn’t limited to whisky.
We offer a wide selection of beverages, including original cocktails, domestic craft gin, craft beer, and wine.
We also plan to introduce original cocktails tailored to the season and ingredients so you can enjoy drinks that are uniquely “BAR Shinkai.”
We hope that guests who come for the whisky will discover our cocktails, and those who come for the cocktails will discover new whiskys.
We hope you’ll enjoy these connections between different drinks right here at our bar.
We also offer a bottle-holding service for whisky.
Leave your favorite bottle with us and enjoy it little by little each time you visit.
We’ll be suggesting ways to spend your time that are unique to a bar like ours.
